Why Do I Need To Get My Car Serviced?
Servicing a motor vehicle is a key component of owning one. To begin with, it prolongs the life of internal engine components which means that as it gets older, its less likely to have a major component failure. Secondly, it allows trained technicians to regularly inspect your vehicle for potentially hazardous faults that maybe you were not aware of. Spotting a potential fault and dealing with it then is less costly then waiting for it to fail as it may damage other components too. Finally, a good service record can boost the resale value of your car by up to 30%, just be sure to keep you receipts!
How Often Should I Get My Car Serviced?
Service intervals are set by the manufacturer and are located in the service manual. Service intervals can range time wise from every six months to every 2 years, and mileage wise can vary from every 6000 miles to every 20000 miles. If you are unsure of how often yours is due, we usually recommend doing it every year (in line with your MOT) or every 10000-12000 miles, depending on which comes first.
